Kiara Marshall, is a 25 year old model and public speaker from Texas, with a background in mental health. After working as a recreational therapist, she left her full time position to dedicate herself to modeling and advocacy work.
Her goals are to erase the limitations set in the media, to bridge the gap of people with disabilities represented in the fashion industry, and to motivate others through her life experiences and training as a therapist.
At the age of 10, Kiara lost her leg in a tragic accident caused by a drunk driver. She struggled with her image and hindered mobility as an amputee until her junior year of college where she found her confidence through outdoor activities, like backpacking and kayaking. Kiara’s engagement in outdoor recreation proved to her that she was limitless.
Although initially hesitant, Kiara plunged into the modeling industry at the beginning of 2017 and has had a successful journey thus far. She has signed to Modelemi Agency in Texas, was featured in three magazines and graced the cover of one. She has walked in two fashion shows previously and is thrilled to be a model and the mistress of ceremonies in the 65 Roses benefit fashion show in 2018. Kiara recently landed a speaking contact after her speech given at the Women Inspiring Women conference this past October in Maryland. Kiara gets excited about creating new concepts for her photo shoots for a diverse portfolio…you can see her favorite photos here.
Outside of modeling and speaking, Kiara lives a laid-back lifestyle. She enjoys spending time with loved ones, the outdoors, reading a good book, and laying out in her hammock.
